Hydrocephalus
One of the most frequent clinical situations. Hydrocephalus is the abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) inside the skull. It may have very different causes, but requieres urgent treatment in most cases.
We all produce and absorb CSF. However, when there's too much production, inadequate circulation, or insufficient absortion, it accumulates inside the head. The accumulation of CSF causes headache, nausea, vomiting, and loss of consciousness. Regardless of the cause, if you present these symptoms and hydrocephalus is suspected, it must be treated as soon as possible to avoid complications.
